Charcoal Landscape

This is my charcoal individual piece. I decided to do this landscape in charcoal due to my new favorite artist Katherine Nelson. She travels to various places and draws them in charcoal. Overall I really enjoy this piece especially the contrast between the charcoal and the blue river flowing.

City Scape

This is my city scape piece for my 7th individual project. I decided to try acrylic for my first time because I knew it would make the color glow and be brighter. However, acrylic was a lot tougher to use then I thought it would be. I encountered many problems but in the end I fixed them and did what I could to make it work.

Nature Landscape

This is the first independent project of the semester. After being influenced by the fauve movement I decided to do a nature landscape with watercolor. This piece was inspired by Anne Garney who is a fauve landscape artist. The mountains and the sky especially are my most favorite parts in this work. The water was quite difficult to get it to look the act of flowing or motion but I think it turned out pretty well. Overall I really enjoy this piece.

Experimental Watercolor

This is also one of my better pieces. Although it doesn't really look like experimental watercolor it still looks very nice. I like how it turned out to look like the fauve movement and The shades in the face and hair. This project also inspired me to do my next project which is in the fauve movement. Overall I really enjoy this piece and it turned out well.

Eraser Drawing

This eraser drawing was one of my least favorite techniques to work with. It was hard to get the act of motion and I should have practiced more and not used charcoal on the parts I erased. It did turn out pretty well though. I like the color of the finished motion and the charcoal road.

Encaustic Drawing

This is by far my favorite project so far. I really like how it turned out especially the background texture and how the man is extended. The encaustic was hard to work with but I made it work. Overall I really love this piece and how it turned out.

Encaustic Collage

I really like how this first project turned out. Even though it wasn't completely how i wanted it to be, I still like how it ended up looking. I like how the water and sky looks and also the ink used to draw. Some problems were the color palette and how the layers were used. Over all I think it turned out pretty good.
